Sutcliffe Play are delighted to announce the installation of a game-changing 14 new Teqball tables in the North-East Lincolnshire area! The contract was won following a price submission to NE Lincs Council’s framework process as part of the Council’s £800,000 investment into play and leisure sites, after which we were thrilled to get the ball rolling on the hard work of bringing the 14 distinctive curved tables to parks and recreation spaces across the region.
Improvements were already highly demanded in the area – in June, Grimsby primary school pupils handed a petition to the council calling for an overhaul of their local play space, and we’re proud that one of the 14 tables has now been installed in their local recreation ground at Nunsthorpe! With these groundbreaking installations, Sutcliffe Play have once again demonstrated that when it comes to innovative play experiences, we’re always ahead of the curve – because these are the very first Teqball tables to be installed anywhere in the UK outside of London!
The tables are made from high-pressure laminated (HPL) sheets, with a highly durable steel support structure beneath, and Teqball itself is a brand-new sporting craze which originated in Hungary but is now sweeping the world; combining elements of football, table tennis and volleyball, it makes for a truly unique playing experience, and is sure to bring countless hours of fun to the future sporting superstars of North-East Lincolnshire. We are particularly proud that people of any age, gender or skill level can enjoy the sport and keep fit in the process (particularly in this Women’s World Cup season), making for healthier, happier communities in the long run – and not a penalty kick in sight!
We were excited to join representatives of North-East Lincolnshire Council at a grand opening for one of the new Teqball tables at Haverstoe Park, Cleethorpes, on the 8th of August. Local children and adults kicked off the fun with the table in the seaside sunshine, as well as taking away a free Teqball and water bottle – there was no VAR required, however, as all agreed it was a resounding thumbs up for the new equipment!
Sheryl Smith, Area Sales Manager for Sutcliffe Play, said ‘We were delighted to win the contract with North-East Lincolnshire and install their very first Teqball Table! I hope the residents will thoroughly enjoy using them.’
Cllr. Stewart Swinburn, Portfolio Holder for Environment and Transport for NE Lincs Council, said ‘North-East Lincolnshire Council have invested £800,000 to make sure our parks are fit for purpose, and Teqball is a new technology that we’re trying to get people to use a lot more, and get them out into the open spaces… it’s been recognised worldwide, with David Beckham and all the top international players using it. Please come along, and when you see the Teqball tables, use them!’
Time to lace up your shoes and hit the park – let the games begin!
