Play equipment manufacturer Sutcliffe Play has delivered a touch of nautical play to a water park in Walsall.
The company designed and manufactured a bespoke pirate ship play unit to the play area at Walsall Arboretum, which was undergoing an extensive revamp. Designed for children aged between 2 and 8 years, the pirate ship encourages physical, imaginative activity and enables teamwork and social play.
The ship features challenging elements such as a 1.8m fireman’s pole, a pull-up ramp and a scramble net, as well as sensory features including a megaphone and mirror panel. Nautical-themed elements to stimulate children’s imaginations include end sails, a binocular rail and decks at different heights.
“The pirate ship unit was designed to deliver exciting, themed play opportunities, whilst complementing the water theme of Walsall Arboretum,” says Roy Allcock, Director of Sutcliffe Play South West. “Thanks to its wide range of challenging features and nautical elements, we’re certain that children in Walsall will continue to enjoy pirate-themed play for many years to come.”
