Sutcliffe Play Scotland has created a number of exciting play facilities throughout Scotland, catering to a wide range of requirements.
Highland Council 4 Year Framework Agreement This contract, in its first year, saw Sutcliffe Play Scotland completing 21 play areas, covering the vast geography of the Highlands and Islands – from the Isle of Skye in the North West to Nairn in the East to Tain in the North. The projects involved meeting with the client groups and the local authority and offering solutions for upgrading their play areas. The projects were then delivering within a very tight time scale to the satisfaction of the client group; all contracts were delivered on time and to budget.
Tranent, Walker Group
The Walker Group had a simple brief to create a small compact play space within a new housing area to serve the residents. Sutcliffe Play Scotland selected play equipment which would fulfil the needs of a wide age range. The equipment selected was low maintenance, as the residents themselves would be paying for this element, but without compromising on play value. It included swings with cradle seats and a springie.
Glasgow University required a play area which could cater for several different age groups. The play area always has supervision close by, and a resident gardener, meaning some natural play could be introduced including a living willow den. The play area also included inclusive equipment such as a dish roundabout and a basket swing.
Sutcliffe Play Scotland was briefed to upgrade the existing facility at this play area in Saltcoats to create a fun experience for all users. The area is on the shorefront and is battered by strong sea winds and waves through much of the winter, meaning Sutcliffe Play Scotland’s products had to withstand the sea salt. The play area was therefore designed using high quality Kaiser & Kühne stainless steel products and a large, themed rope look-out tower from Huck which gives views over the sea to Arran.
