We have been creating play spaces nationwide for over 30 years and our products can be applied to a wide variety of outdoor settings in schools and nurseries. We design and build to encourage creativity, leaving as much as possible to children’s imagination.
We believe strongly in play for play’s sake, for children’s simple enjoyment. Our Sales Managers understand the EYFS in Early Years settings and the curriculum requirements in Key Stage 1 & 2 at schools and nurseries, they are here to help support your outdoor projects.
We can offer bespoke outdoor playground solutions for schools and nurseries, tailored to your requirements that also support physical literacy and fundamental movement skills learning.
Our experience ranges from playgrounds for childcare settings e.g. nurseries, children’s centres and pre-schools, to more educational and natural play spaces in primary and junior school playgrounds. Secondary school favourites are large multiplay units, Muga’s (multi use games areas) and shelters. With our passion for inclusive play, we have created numerous play spaces for special educational needs schools.
We are proud to design and manufacture here in the UK, and can provide off the shelf solutions or bespoke play areas and designs. Lead times are short, quality assured. You can even visit our factory with a group of children to watch your play equipment being made.
Product Range
Our range is the most extensive in the UK. We offer steel, timber and natural play equipment such as water and sand play. We have equipment suitable across the age ranges and settings, from toddlers to teens, from nurseries to secondary schools. We provide traditional playground equipment such as swings, slides, roundabouts, seesaws, and more unusual items such as trampolines, zip wires and net climbers.Â
Inclusive Play
We believe passionately in inclusive play, giving every child equal access to good play opportunities. Our aim is for children of all abilities to play side by side, so, we specialise in designing inclusive play equipment and spaces. Huge importance is placed on carefully designing inclusive features into our equipment. We also take care to ensure that the playspace itself is truly accessible to all.
Quality Assured
All of Sutcliffe Play operations meet the independently audited ISO9001 Quality Assurance standard. Every product in our catalogue is certified to EN1176, the European standard for outdoor play equipment. Because we are employee owned everyone in the company can lay claim to the title of Quality Controller. We have extensive guarantees, with a lifetime philosophy. We are a founder member of the API, our industry association that ensures that members have the necessary experience, financial status and quality of workmanship.
Free play area design
We have a team of play area designers, led by a qualified landscape architect. Following a site visit and survey, we will provide comprehensive proposals, designs and costings for a whole landscaped playspace. This will include draft designs with plan views and 3D visuals that you can use to present to your school, nursery, Governors, parents etc. We will consider the landscaping and even the planting around the area and then work with you, making amends to ensure you get the play area you want.
Full range of services
We will listen to what you require and can flex our service accordingly. We can research and consult, design play spaces, design and manufacture play equipment, and refurbish tired play areas. Our Contracts department can take care of installation and landscaping, providing on site project management as required.
Finally we provide after sales service in the form of technical support and advice with swift supply of spares. We will happily work in partnership with any advisors you may have from your LEA or Local Authority.
