We are delighted to be able to host our 9th annual Home Show exhibition this year.
It was wonderful to see all our visitors here last year after such a tough time with Covid and we can’t wait to see everyone back here this year on the Tuesday 6th & Wednesday 7th September.
We are pretty much keeping to the format we had last year as it worked so well, so we will be having the seminars out in the marquee once again with all facilities separate to the main offices for everyone’s comfort. We want all our visitors and staff to feel that they are in a safe, socially distanced environment and keeping the event outdoors as much as we can will help towards this.
During the two day show we will be showcasing what makes us one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and designers of children’s playground equipment. Alongside factory tours and the chance to see brand new equipment in the playground outside our offices, we will also be hosting a series of seminars from leading influencers in the play industry.
- Nicola Butler, Chair of the UK Children’s Play Policy Forum – Introducing a Child Centred Planning Process Tool.
Nicola Butler is chair of the UK Children’s Play Policy Forum, a voluntary role. The Forum brings together Play England, Play Scotland, Playboard Northern Ireland and Play Wales, along with the Association of Play Industries and other stakeholders to advocate for better provision for children’s play. Recent advocacy includes the 2021 Summer of Play campaign, National Play Day and an online play symposium involving governments from Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and Westminster.
Nicola’s day job is as CEO of Young K&C, a new charity set up to support voluntary organisations working with children and young people in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea.
- Andrea Bull, Parks Engagement Officer for Thurrock Council – ‘It’s a bumpy road delivering Play!’
Andrea has a wealth of experience working within the play industry. Her work involves public consultations, community meetings to discuss projects and making sure that there are funds available if the projects want to go ahead. She also involves and invites national charities who look after children with disabilities and Mind for young adults wanting to play. Andrea was involved with the Playbuilder Scheme, bringing in additional funds to expand this scheme and also worked alongside Play England to help deliver a ‘Risk in Play’ seminar.
Andrea has also been invited by a large playground manufacturer to address their sales staff on what things councils are looking for in relation to delivering a successful playground project. Her present position involves organising specific events in parks themselves. Throughout this work she has also started to work closely with other organisations, including the police, to see how the problem of vandalism can be minimised around play areas.
- Final speaker to be confirmed.
