We’ll once again be opening our doors to customers on 5-6 September for our fifth annual Home Show exhibition.
During the two day show we’ll be showcasing what makes Sutcliffe Play one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and designers of children’s playground equipment. Alongside factory tours and the chance to see brand new equipment put to the test by local children on the playground outside our offices, we’ll be hosting a series of seminars from leading influencers in the play industry.
Ilya Van Holsteijn, Cruyff Foundation
In 1997 the Johan Cruyff Foundation was founded from the wish of Johan Cruyff to give children the opportunity to be actively engaged in sport within the community. With over 200 courts now in use within Mainland Europe the Cruyff Foundation is now focussing on bringing the facility to the UK with four courts already in place. The Foundation’s vision is for a Cruyff court to be installed within close proximity of every premiership and football league club throughout the UK. Ilya will be talking about how the Foundation is working towards making this happen and how access to sports can have a positive long-lasting impact on a child’s well-being.
Aileen Shackell, ASA Landscape Design
Aileen was lead author on ‘Design for play: a guide to creating successful play spaces’ which was published in 2008 by the government and Play England. The publication’s 10 Design Principles proved highly influential and Aileen will be speaking about updates since the original report was published.
Robin Sutcliffe, Chairman of Sutcliffe Play
Robin will be talking about his international work as the Chair of the Play Safety Forum (PSF). This includes meetings with Japanese Government officials, leading the fight against increasing the test method severity for impact absorbing surfaces in Europe and the USA, this year’s IPA Conference in Calgary, Canada and the International Play Safety Network (IPSN) of play experts from across the globe that was established at last year’s Child in the City in Ghent, Belgium.
Martin Griffin, Managing Director of Sutcliffe Play comments: “The Sutcliffe Play Home Show gets bigger and better each year and we’re delighted to welcome customers to get a real behind-the- scenes insight into Sutcliffe Play. We’re looking forward to establishing long-lasting relationships with both current and new customers at this year’s event.”
The event is free to attend with refreshments served throughout the day. If you would like to attend please contact us on 01977 653 200 or email info@sutcliffeplay.co.uk.
