We recently received this lovely letter from Ana Ardelean from Leeds Beckett University. Our Chairman, Robin Sutcliffe recently sponsored Ana so she could attend the National Playwork Conference in Eastbourne. The National Playwork Conference provides a space for people involved in the play industry to share best practice and ideas.
Dear Sutcliffe Play,
As you probably already know, I was the lucky one to win the ticket you sponsored for the National Playwork Conference in Eastbourne.
I just wanted to let you know how grateful I am for that.
I got the chance to meet and interact with a lot of the people who are actively making a difference in the Playwork field through their theory and practice. All the workshops I attended were packed with incredibly useful information that I will not only use in my studies, but will also reflect on for years to come. Being surrounded by so much playfulness and people who were on the same wavelength made me feel a real sense of strong community and belonging and motivated me to become a better playworker.
Even if it sounds clichéd, there were many sad goodbyes when the Conference came to an end. I see it as a personal and professional step forward and I can only hope that, in the future, other Playwork students at Leeds Beckett University will be offered the same chance to attend this amazing event.
Thank you, Sutcliffe Play, for two unforgettable days which I could not have experienced without you!
