Multi-play unit Vortex, is part of the NEO range of products. A range of bow shaped activities and suspended rope elements have been used to help create a dynamic look for this edgy range of multi-play equipment.

A lime green gloss finish enhances the bold aesthetic. With ropes finished in jet black, and accents of lime and grey detailed in end caps and rope fixings, this multiplay unit stands out from the playground. Vertical climbing walls and infill barriers are finished in ‘urban camo’ HPL panels with a grey/lime contrast.

This unit is named after a unique traversing element called ‘Vortex’, consisting of a rubber disc suspended between two decks using steel core ropes and tensioners. With a ‘Bow’ ladder suspended between two curved frames as a quick entry to the 1.4m high decks, a higher level of balance and coordination is needed to negotiate this moving disc in order to get from deck to deck.

Activities include  the ‘Bow’ climber, with a single rope featuring climbing nodules for a challenging vertical ascent. Slide bars in stainless and powder coated steel give an alternative to a traditional slide, they require a higher level of balance to use them. A ‘Camo’ climber takes the essence of a climbing wall with a bow shape which extends from one post at 45 degrees.

Most activities are only fixed to anodised aluminium uprights, reducing the footprint of the units, and lowering the cost of safety surfacing and ground works. While the aluminium posts, dedicated fixing system and rubber decks borrow from the heritage of Playzone and Mission multi-play units, (tried and tested), NEO has a range of flexible climbing and traversing elements, distinct in the market.
