Wooden Climbing Frame.
Maple Orchard, wooden multi play unit incorporates a circular deck at 1.5 m high and a leaf deck at 1.2 m, it has traversing opportunities between the two via a curved leaf bridge.
With 10 play feature activities this wooden multi-play unit has a wide range of incremental physical challenges and areas to interact socially, increasingly important to children as they develop social skills.
Maple uses the key elements of the original Orchard range, but features a more flexible deck system and a range of new activities and configurations. The interface of timber and steel also has more built in tolerance.
Can accommodate up to 15 users.
A total of 10 Play Activities.
A challenging climbing wall offers a climbing activity associated with more expensive units.
A leaf step access echoes the climbing grips, but with enough room for a foot, it makes the climb slightly easier while still having to coordinate to accommodate a ‘spiral’ ascent.
Two leaf bridges which curve one way then another requires balance and coordination.
Vertical climb accessing the centre of the two leaf bridges.
A peg climber is situated half way across the leaf bridge enabling a quick entrance or exit.
A suspended hammock positioned at one end of the unit provides a rope net perch for children to sit and talk.
Inclined ladder gives direct access to the hammock and braces the hammock.
An inclined log notch climber, adds to the range of access, step by step.
Pole grips enable a vertical ascent on to a leaf platform.
Slide bars help the user to get back to ground level with speed and exhilaration.
Primarily a natural product, the main component, the pine logs, are locally farmed from UK forests in a managed sustainable process that ensures the forests are always replenished. The timber we use is between 20 and 25 years old, so by the time your play equipment is at the end of its life newly grown trees will be ready for your next play products. Sustainability continues with the natural rubber components used in Orchard; these are made from latex which is milked in a sustainable way that does not damage the trees. The whole range is manufactured in our environmentally-friendly factory, where our impact on the local surroundings is carefully monitored to ensure it is kept at a minimum. All Orchard posts are pressure treated against wet rot, dry rot, and insect infestation. This is only done after the posts have been cut and drilled to ensure that all exposed timber is fully treated. Orchard’s natural appearance also allows it to blend aesthetically into outdoor play spaces. We developed a unique joining system for the logs, made of rubber with a steel core which provides a strong connection. The system also spaces the logs slightly apart, which eliminates the possibility of fingers getting trapped between them.
