Inclusive Ball Courts
We have taken our standard ball court and adapted it to make it more inclusive and accessible for users of all abilities to play side by side. Our inclusive ball court has features such as wider access points, smaller side courts for small group working, and lowered side basketball goals for easy reach from wheelchairs. Visual impairment has also been considered with the addition of contrast colours in goal backs. This has all been combined with our standard ball court features including durability, flexible heights, unique noise reduction and slope adjustment.
Inclusive Ball Courts have yellow contrast mesh in main goal areas and yellow back panels to increase visibility for the visual impaired. There is a DDA 1.4m wide chicane access for wheelchairs and 4 lowered side goals set at 2.55m high for easy reach from wheelchairs. Higher posts for volleyball and badminton are also fitted. There can also be an added kickboard for wheelchair hockey, with 45 degree chamfered corners.
A soft surface EDPM wet pour surface can be used with strong line markings and colour contrasts that helps to define mini courts. A wheelchair race track can also be added using painted or thermoplastic graphics with a tarmac surfacing.
We have taken our standard ball court and adapted it to make it more inclusive and accessible for users of all abilities to play side by side. Our Inclusive Ball Courts also have our unique noise suppression, complete rubber insulation system and strong, durable twin wire mesh with a consistent rebound quality. Ideal for use in residential areas.
Huge importance is placed on carefully designing inclusive features into all our equipment and play spaces, to open up play to each and every child.
We believe that every child should have equal access to good, meaningful play opportunities by designing our equipment to enable users with a wide range of abilities, rather than just for disabled children, to enjoy play spaces together, to play together. Play equipment that creates new challenges for all.
