We were tasked by Tendering Council to update the play area at Foots Farm in Clacton On Sea ensuring the budget was adhered to. The brief involved carefully selecting equipment to compliment the area, including the use of colour, type of materials used, landscaping and the addition to the play value and variety of the park.
All new equipment needed to be as inclusive as possible to allow children of all abilities to play together, as well as offering a level of challenge for all users. After a careful examination of the site including its surroundings and existing equipment, considerations were made to match the requirements of the brief.
The site is situated next to a busy nursery so with this being the intended target audience for the play area we installed new equipment from our range to carefully compliment this.
Every effort has been made to ensure the site is accessible as possible, this includes the location of the equipment and the equipment itself. This two tower multi-play apparatus, which is perfect for smaller areas, offers 14 play experiences to engage younger children, with features that encourage social, imaginative and fantasy role play.
Another stand out addition to the site is the Fort Knight multi-play unit. Perfect for ages two to six years and equipped with a slide, tunnel and climbing ramp as well as imaginative additional features such as the lookout goggles and castle design. A playground staple, a double swing completes the playground, offering those much loved elements that have been enjoyed for generations.
In summary, our proposal encapsulates the brief of Foots Farm play area, ensuring adequate play facilities for its intended users. The new equipment offers a low maintenance facility to be enjoyed for many years to come.
A spokesperson from Tendering Council said:
“Sutcliffe Play have done a brilliant job bringing our brief to life. This play area is an important destination for its users and is enjoyed by many, so we’re pleased to be able to offer something back to our community.”
