Our distributor in the South West was was tasked with designing and installing a large central multi-play structure to compliment and existing play area on site. After many months of discussion and design proposals a large new bespoke multi-play structure was designed to become the focal point of the playground.
The new structure needed to complement the existing equipment on the playground and provide a wide range of play opportunities. It had to be impressive enough to sit next to a large multi-use games area and an outdoor fitness area.
To have the desired effect the Sutcliffe Play design team created their biggest bespoke new play structure to date.
As part of the company’s Playzone range, Goliath, is packed with play opportunities that will keep children of all ages engaged for many years to come. The unit boasts an impressive 37 play value elements and stands at an impressive 5.27m high, it has a wide range of activities and linking bridges extending around a Y shaped structure. There are three slides, climbing walls, scramble nets, rope bridges, rope climbs, fireman poles, a ring crawler, bridges, a lookout tower, pull up wall and much more!
The unit has been designed with fun and excitement at the core whilst providing physical, social, imaginative and creative play options to keep children coming back for more.
Goliath is complemented by other Sutcliffe Play equipment installed at the playground – an Inclusive Dish Roundabout, Pirate Rocker and Cobra Swing. The Cobra Swing is one of the latest additions to the swing range and is proving very popular as a challenging multi-user swing where up to 6 children of varied ages and abilities can all swing together. It requires teamwork and balance to get the rope seat moving. Using a combination of balancing, swinging and rocking movements this multi-user swing encourages social cooperation and locomotor play. It can be enjoyed by a wide age group range and is suitable for adults to help smaller children.
“The Sutcliffe Play design team really did deliver against the brief. We’re delighted with the new multi play unit. Since the playground reopened it’s been the most popular piece of equipment.” Steve Altria, Creech St Michael Town Clerk
