Meeting the needs of client briefs through the provision of play area presentations, you will work alongside Area Sales Managers and be supported by an experienced team.

The position may suit graduates, estimators, illustrators or graphic designers and training will be given.

The position is full time 36.25 hours per week. 8.30 am – 4.30pm

Salary £19,000 to £21,000

This vacancy will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to become part of the largest employee-owned UK manufacturer in the industry. The new Area Sales Manager will join an established and successful sales team and will be integral in helping Sutcliffe Play develop the business and achieve its commercial targets.

Sales territory – Hampshire, Surrey and East Berkshire

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate their ability to:

  • promote and manage the sales activities within the assigned territory
  • develop the presence of Sutcliffe Play with existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach
  • gain a clear understanding of our customers’ requirements and their future project plans
  • establish and maintain a robust sales pipeline
  • manage CRM data specific to the territory
  • work in conjunction with our internal teams in creating detailed proposal documents, often as part of a formal bidding process
  • to be available to assist the Contracts Team with project related site meetings when required
  • attend regular meetings at our Head Office in Upton, West Yorkshire

Experience and Knowledge.

The successful candidate will be a dedicated sales professional with a proven track record of success in both relationship and transactional selling. Preferably with experience of selling into the local authority sectors they will be accustomed to achieving monthly and annual targets and be able to plan and work strategically. Product and project based training is provided. It is essential that candidates are familiar with Excel, Word and Powerpoint. The role also requires a basic understanding of AutoCAD for which training is available.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Sales & Marketing Director.

The new Contracts Manager will join an established and successful contracts team and will be integral in helping Sutcliffe Play achieve its commercial targets.

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate their ability to:

  • Manage the installation element of the projects that the company is contracted to complete.
  • Oversees the projects from sales handover to site completion ensuring that work is completed on time, to standard and within budget.
  • Attending site to provide Contracts Management and customer support is, therefore, a primary purpose.
  • Be the first point of contact for Sub Contractors/Site Managers and Clients during the contract period.

Health and Safety issues will be a top priority in this role, as will managing client expectations.

Experience and qualifications

Previous experience is essential, along with relevant industry qualifications and good knowledge of CDM requirements.

The position will cover an area defined generally as the East Midlands down to the South East and stretching West to the M1 and M3 corridors.

The salary is £36k – £38k basic + non-contractual incentive scheme + non-contractual profit share.
