Our Sutcliffe Play cable ride and inclusive drag ramp is being enjoyed by children in two exciting new playgrounds in the USA, both of which were built by their local communities.
Drag Ramp
Our drag ramp forms part of the new playground at McKinley Park in Sacramento, California. Following a fire which destroyed the original playground, the community raised funds for a new playground which was then erected by 2,000 volunteers in seven days.
Cinzia Ferella, International Sales Manager for Sutcliffe Play, says: “The rebuilding of McKinley Park playground was a very exciting project and it was inspiring to see the local community coming together to make it happen. We’re delighted that Sutcliffe Play’s equipment is able to be part of the new playground, which is sure to be a real legacy for the area.”
The drag ramp climber enables children with limited mobility to pull themselves up with ropes and rubber grips, providing challenging, inclusive play.
Cable Ride
Our cable ride features in the Winthrop Elementary School playground in Ipswich, Massachusetts. The playground, which was funded through donations and built with Play by Design, was constructed entirely by members of the community.
“The community has built a fantastic new playground for the school with plenty of challenging, active play opportunities for the children,” says Cinzia. “Staff say the cable ride is very popular and there is always a queue of children waiting to jump on it.“The community has built a fantastic new playground for the school with plenty of
“We hope they continue to enjoy the playground for a very long time.”
