Sutcliffe Play has worked with its Irish partner All Play, to create a bespoke inclusive play unit for Parkview Special School in Lisburn, Northern Ireland.
The already inclusive Sneak & Peek unit from Sutcliffe Play’s Toddlerzone range has been modified to meet the needs of the school.
Parkview School provides specialist education for children aged 3-19 with severe learning difficulties. The school’s mission is to ‘provide a safe, happy and stimulating environment, where pupils feel valued, are encouraged and supported to acquire new knowledge and skills and where they van strive to be the very best that they can be’.
As part of this mission a new Foundation Stage playground has been opened with the support of the Friends of Parkview community group.
The bespoke Sneak & Peak unit provides a variety of play options for toddlers and younger juniors with differing elements of challenge and risk designed to engage children.
Danielle Hammond from All Play says: “The new playground is a fantastic addition to the school. It’s already had a fantastic response from pupils, teaching staff and parents. We’re expecting the new equipment to have a long-lasting positive impact on pupils.”
Take a look at the School’s website and Facebook page to see the playground in action. Alternatively you can see more about our Inclusive Play products here, Inclusive Play with more case studies here, case studies.
