 The Lifetime in Play in London Award, created by London Play to celebrate the dedication and successes of people who work in play in the capital. The award, which is proudly sponsored by Sutcliffe Play for the fifth year, recognises the contribution made by London’s playwork sector to the happiness and well-being of London’s 1.73 million under 18 year olds. It also aims to raise awareness amongst policy makers and opinion formers about the child’s right to play under the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child.The much deserving winner, Debbie Lapham, a Play Service Operations Manager in Sutton, will receive the honour at a Parliamentary reception on 25th March kindly hosted by Lord Smith of Finsbury. |

Event: Child in the City 2010

 The fifth 'Child in the City' conference, partnered by UNICEF, is being held in Florence in October 2010. This event began as a relatively small event ten years ago and has grown into a European movement promoting the local implementation of children's rights. The event will focus on child poverty as well as building further on ideas from previous events, including space for children, children's mobility, children's participation and assessment tools. |
