Natural Play
Risk - an added vital ingredient
Often when we think back to where we played as children, it was in a landscape with trees, dens, streams, fields?. a wild landscape. A landscape more important than what we played with. Mindful of this, we are interested in developing more natural settings for play. Play without boundaries or fences, play that is extended by natural features, and play that embraces the elements of air, water, earth and even fire.
Whilst we can’t offer streams or hills in our catalogue, we can offer a one stop shop for both conventional play equipment complemented by natural features such as rocks, tree trunks, and living willow structures. We have sourced suppliers of tree trunks, boulders direct from quarries, living willow rods and we employ an experienced play and landscape designer who can offer advice on designing these into play environments. We do this in an exploratory way, to discover if there is a need for such a service and to see whether together we can ensure our children will also remember playing in natural spaces. If you are interested in discussing and developing natural playspaces, call us on 01977 653 200.

Children need and want to take risks when they play
That’s the Play Safety Forum’s view on risk. And we agree. At Sutcliffe Play we aim to meet those needs by offering children a stimulating and challenging playground environment for exploring and developing their abilities.
